In May 2009, the Office of the French Language Services Commissioner (now part of the Office of the Ombudsman of Ontario) published the Special Report on French Language Health Services Planning. Various recommendations were made, including the creation of organizations dedicated to the integration of Francophones.<\/p>\n

In January 2010, the provincial government responded favourably by adopting the Francophone Community Engagement Regulation<\/strong> under the Local Health System Integration Act, 2006.<\/p>\n

Entity 3 is now one of six French-language Health Services Planning Entities in Ontario. With an interim administration in the fall of 2010, Entity 3 was officially established by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care on March 3, 2011.<\/p>\n

In 2019, the Ontario government is building a connected health care system to improve the experience of patients and caregivers and strengthen local services. Ontario is merging provincial health agencies and specialized provincial programs to make them more efficient and synergistic by creating the Health Ontario agency.<\/p>\n

This agency will be responsible for the Ontario Health Teams, which are being set up to provide local communities with a new way of organizing and delivering services. Entities will report to Health Ontario.<\/p>\n
